Dr. Art Bruckheim
Senior Advisor

Dr. Bruckheim brings to SMI over 30 years of technical and management experience in the areas of Defense Research and Law Enforcement Technologies. For the last eight years, Dr. Bruckheim has served as a Special Advisor to the Director, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency(DARPA) where he led studies in Urban Warfare, Manufacturing Technology for Military Applications and Airport Security as well as helping to organize the three DARPA Grand Challenges for Autonomous Land Vehicles. He also helped coordinate international projects with the Governments of Sweden, Israel and Singapore. Dr. Bruckheim has extensive experience in signal and data processing with applications to radar, sonar and infrared sensors. Previously, Dr. Bruckheim was a Vice President at Science Applications International Corporation(SAIC) where he was responsible for Law Enforcement Programs including a project with the Government of Argentina on Cargo Inspection and Port Security technologies. Dr. Bruckheim also served as a Program Manager at DARPA with programs in radar technology and Anti-Submarine Warfare.

Dr. Bruckheim has a thorough understanding of government requirements and technical issues and an ability to translate those into successful client commercialization and proposal strategies. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, an MA in Economics from Virginia Tech, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytech.
