Ryan S. Bowley
Associate

Mr. Bowley brings to SMI significant legislative, policy, and political experience in the U.S. House of Representatives.  He most recently served as Legislative Director to Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. of South Carolina’s First District. In this position, Mr. Bowley served as the Congressman’s chief legislative advisor and was directly responsible for the Congressman’s project and policy work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  His infrastructure policy experience covers all modes and every major piece of infrastructure legislation considered in recent Congresses.

Prior to joining Congressman Brown’s office. Mr. Bowley served as Legislative Assistant for Congressman John E. Peterson, representing Pennsylvania’s 5th District. Mr. Bowley served as Mr. Peterson’s Associate Staffer to the Interior & Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, where he focused on energy development and research, federal lands policy, clean air and water programs, and support of regional tourism opportunities.  Mr. Bowley was also responsible for policy and projects under the Energy and Water Development and Transportation/HUD Appropriations Bills, a role he continued in Mr. Brown’s office. 

  

Mr. Bowley received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from The American University in Washington, DC and he holds a Master of Arts in Political Management from The Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University.
