CAPT Martin L. Chamberlain
Senior Advisor

A graduate of the Naval War College, Captain Chamberlain (Ret.) began his career in the U.S. Navy immediately after college. During his 26-year Navy career, Captain Chamberlain commanded two Navy squadrons and had multiple ship-tours on USS Nassau and USS Iwo Jima. His last assignment was Military Deputy to the Director at the Office of Naval Research and head of the ONR Planning and Assessment staff.

After retirement from the Navy, Mr. Chamberlain returned to the Office of Naval Research as part of the core management team for the ONR Condition Based Maintenance program. There he played a key role in planning, competing and winning funding for a Multi-Disciplinary University Research Initiative and a five-year Accelerated Research Initiative in Condition Based Maintenance. In 1997, Mr. Chamberlain formed Vector Technologies, Inc. and in 2000, Mr. Chamberlain was appointed as Transition Manager for the ONR Total Ownership Cost (Reduction), Future Naval Capabilities Program. From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Chamberlain was assigned as the Transition Manager for an ONR program titled Sense and Respond Logistics. Currently, he is under contract to ONR to develop, compete and manage a FY12 Joint Concept Technology Demonstration Program called the Global Transportation Management System.

In addition to completing his studies at the Naval War College, Captain Chamberlain holds a BA in Education from Montclair University. He also holds combat decorations including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, 37 Strike-Flight Air Medals and two Individual Action Air Medals. He was also awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, five Meritorious Service Metals and the Legion of Merit, among others.
