Thomas G. DiGiuseppe, Ph.D.
Senior Advisor

Dr. Thomas G. DiGiuseppe brings over 25 years of experience in Federal sector business development and government relations to the SMI team. He has specialized in delivering innovative technical solutions, products and services to the DoD and Federal agencies.

Throughout his career, Dr. DiGiuseppe has helped both small and medium sized companies develop and implement strategies for the transition of SBIR developed technologies into the government and commercial marketplace. Strategic pathways are selected based on technology readiness, DoD acquisition program requirements and commercial market opportunities. Through extensive review of Federal budget documents, Dr. DiGiuseppe helps client companies obtain long term funding from Government technology transfer programs, acquisition programs and Congressional funding initiatives that support long term corporate goals. His extensive knowledge of the military marketplace and established relationships with key decision makers throughout the DoD provides the basis for the successful insertion of technology into key military platforms.

Dr. DiGiuseppe has served as Business Development Manager for technology-based companies including Physical Sciences, Inc. and Foster-Miller, Inc. He was responsible for developing business opportunities with the U.S. Navy, including the Office of Naval Research and the Naval Research Laboratory. Recently, in addition to securing federal funding for technology development, he directed the commercialization activities for FluidScan™ Oil Analysis Spectrometer for condition-based maintenance applications for the U.S. Navy surface ships.

Dr. DiGiuseppe earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Boston College and was an NRC Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. His Executive Education includes being a Management Fellow in Entrepreneurial Studies at the Graduate School of Business at Babson College.
