Mike Stacy Joins SMI as Vice President

Washington, D.C. – Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI) announces that J. Michael Stacy has joined SMI as a Vice President.   Mr. Stacy comes to SMI as a seasoned defense, aerospace, electronics and technology professional.

 “Mike Stacy is an unbelievable addition to the SMI team,” said SMI COO Bill McCann.  “From Fortune 100 companies to high tech startups entering the defense and federal markets, it is a difficult and daunting challenge.  Mike has very successful track record and is as well respected as they come.”

Prior to joining SMI, Mr. Stacy served as the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Burdeshaw Associates, a senior-level consulting firm specializing in government market research, assessment, business strategies and corporate strategic advancement, market, program and budget analytics, and government contracting.   During his tenure at Burdeshaw, Mr. Stacy interacted at the senior levels of a multitude of domestic and international companies.  Mr. Stacy has also served as a Marketing Vice President for Bombardier, Inc., a global transportation and aerospace company.  At Bombardier, he was responsible for global marketing, win strategies, strategic planning and program/business development activities, which included specific oversight of Bombardier defense marketing and business development. Mr. Stacy was also responsible for organizing, developing and implementing Bombardier’s defense legislative strategies and government relations activities in the United States.  Further, he established Bombardier’s Surveillance Systems Washington operations and a U.S.-based operating unit incorporating flight testing, systems integration, final assembly, product support and marketing/business development functions in the State of Oklahoma. 

“Mike brings a level of experience and a network of contacts that are unprecedented,” said McCann.   “The plan is for Mike to help SMI offer new services and offerings to a broader range of clients, both domestic and international.” 

Mr. Stacy is a Master Army Aviator and has been certified by the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Contract Management Association as a professional program manager, contracts manager and materiel acquisition manager.  Mr. Stacy did his undergraduate work in Business Administration at Auburn University and did his graduate work in Systems Management at the University of Southern California.  Mr. Stacy is active in the Alumni Associations of both institutions.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of kSARIA, Inc. and the Senior Advisory Board of All Purpose Networks, LLC.  He recently served on the Senior Advisory Board of Crowley Maritime Corporation and on the Board of Directors of Radant Technologies, Inc.
