Mr. Ryan Sun Chee Fore Joins SMI as Senior Advisor

Washington, D.C. - Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI) is pleased to announce that Mr. Ryan Sun Chee Fore will be joining the Senior Advisor team. Mr. Sun Chee Fore comes to SMI with 10 years of program management experience and a deep technical understanding of fluid mechanics and systems integration for products operating in dynamic and harsh marine environments.

"His previous experience at the Department of Energy and the Office of Naval Research, as well as his marine hydrodynamics expertise, will be of great value to our clients."  

Mr. Sun Chee Fore previously served as the Marine and Hydrokinetic Technology Manager of the Water Power Program at the Department of Energy (DoE). In this capacity, he led a strategy for Marine and Hydrokinetic (MHK) component technology development and managed a $15M annual portfolio designed to make the emerging sector cost competitive by 2030. In addition, he was responsible for 21 projects spanning basic research at the US DOE national laboratories to component and system technology demonstrations led by industry developers.

Prior to joining DoE, Mr. Sun Chee Fore served as a Deputy Program Manager on several Office of Naval Research programs, where he managed development of science and technology capabilities for transition to the Department of Defense acquisition community. He designed capability enhancing programs for Navy and Marine Corps assets, creating products from 7 unique early-stage technologies, including a 22MW waterjet deployed on the Freedom- class Littoral Combat ships to increase their service interval.

Mr. Sun Chee Fore holds two M.S.E.'s from the University of Michigan in Aerospace Engineering and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He also received his Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan.
