WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 18, 2019: Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI) announced that Jeremy Steslicki has joined the firm as a Vice President. Mr. Steslicki most recently served as National Security Advisor and Director of Appropriations to Senator Tammy Baldwin (WI), a Member of Senate Committee on Appropriations.

“Jeremy is a great addition to our team. We are very excited to have him on board. He’s a well-respected senior Senate staffer and a national security and appropriations expert,” said SMI’s COO Bill McCann. “Our current clients will benefit from Jeremy’s contacts and his deep understanding of the appropriations process. We also anticipate that he’ll attract new clients looking to work with Congress on defense and other appropriations and policy issues.”

Mr. Steslicki worked for Senator Baldwin for the last four and half years as both her National Security Advisor and Director of Appropriations. In the latter role, he managed Senator Baldwin’s policy team in the development and execution of her federal funding priorities across all issue areas and on behalf of a range of stakeholders—from individual constituents to universities to industry. Prior to his position with Senator Baldwin, he worked for both former Congressman Sandy Levin (MI-09), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, and former Senator Carl Levin (MI), the then-Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

During his ten-year congressional career, Mr. Steslicki authored and successfully enacted into law numerous national security legislative measures, including provisions in annual defense authorization bills, and a major reform of the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Known for his work supporting the U.S. defense industrial base and American workers—with an emphasis on shipbuilding and ground vehicles—Mr. Steslicki brings to SMI a long record of securing substantial congressional funding increases through the appropriations process.

Mr. Steslicki hold a BA in German Language and Literature from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Political Science.
