Brigadier General John “Jack” Schmitt
Brigadier General Schmitt brings over 20 years of proven industry and military experience in senior level research, development and acquisition; technology; program management; operational and strategic planning positions. As a senior consultant, he supported the FAA in developing processes to approve small UAS flights in the NAS and led the State of North Dakota’s Proposal effort in winning selection as a FAA UAS National Test Site. As an Executive with The Boeing Company, he led force modernization and technology development, systems engineering and program management activities on the Army’s Brigade Combat Team Modernization/Future Combat System program. General Schmitt served 29 years in the U.S. Army in increasingly responsible command and staff positions to include Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Kosovo Forces and Director, Army Digitization Office. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Saint Bonaventure University and a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
