Kathryn Pate, Ph.D.
Dr. Pate brings over 15 years of diverse research experience in academic and industry settings. In addition to having served as Founder and CEO of Coruna Medical and Director of Combat Casualty Care Programs at Roccor, Dr. Pate has been Program Director and Director of Research for a variety of for-profit and nonprofit organizations where she was responsible for leading research efforts and developing business opportunities with the Department of Defense and National Institutes of Health. Areas of research focus include: neurotrauma (SCI/TBI), mental health, burn trauma, ocular trauma, cancer and radiation biology, lung infection, arthritis, inflammatory diseases, nutrition for optimal health, the gut microbiome, physical and cognitive performance, medical devices and diagnostics and medical education. Dr. Pate earned her Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from the University of Florida and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at National Jewish Health Respiratory Hospital and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
