Peter Drown

Peter has dedicated his career to enhancing the value of emerging clean energy and water technologies to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Peter's practice bridges the gap between technology development and financial requirements, applying a diverse set of skills that both engineers and investors can understand. His skillset has brought particular value to Serial #1 Projects, including the successful development and launch of the first grid-connected offshore wind turbine in the United States, off the coast of Maine in 2013. Following the deployment Peter was retained by the U.S. Department of Energy to develop investment strategy for new hydropower, marine and hydrokinetic technology projects, where his work led to record budget requests and innovative funding opportunities. Since that time Peter has joined the private sector where he assists clean energy firms with new technology commercialization, identifying and securing traditional and non-traditional funding sources, project development strategy, corporate partnerships and environmental compliance. Peter holds an MBA in Finance and Bachelors of Science in Economics from the University of Maine in Orono.
